Our Story
The initiative of protocol professionalism emerged in 2009 at a gathering of over 40 protocol experts in London during an executive training programme. The vision of rebranding the concept of protocol practice in Nigeria has revealed the extensive opportunities in our fast-growing economy. In 2010, we started setting standards of professionalism through membership of business schemes registered within the diplomatic channels. Over 65 companies where registered under the platform engaging with protocol practitioners who were keen on promoting and enhancing protocol practices to experience better ways of working and maximizing opportunities for better impact.
In 2012 the first international protocol summit was held in Uyo Akwa Ibom to promote the activities of the Association. Over 80 protocol officers were in attendance driving the need to rebrand the concept of protocol Practice. During building a new face for protocol practice in Nigeria, the focus has been to define the rightful purpose, leverage on our strengths as a strong team, influence the right people, and empower others within our organizations, networks, and communities to enhance professionalism, diplomacy, Integrity in our practice.
The Protocol Experts Summit June 2015 which also held at the British Deputy High Commission was a stimulant for taking up the challenge to officially be recognized and work as a vibrant group to recognise the importance of who we are and the crucial role we play.
